SURFACE TRAVEL AWARDS 2019

By M-Rad Team

Fitler Club was awarded at the SURFACE TRAVEL AWARDS 2019 | Destination Category

The distinguished jury composed of Daniel Boulud, Isolde Brielmaier, Suchi Reddy and Lee Broom highlighted:

“The most ambitious members’ club project we’ve seen in recent years is not in New York or London, but in Center City Philadelphia where a 136,000-square-foot complex occupies a former Hudson Motor Car factory on the Schuylkill River. With five bars and restaurants overseen by Philly chef Marc Vetri, a movie theater, 14 hotel rooms, and a massive fitness center—with a rooftop pool and recreation deck still to come—it represents a swaggering challenge to rivals like Soho House. Throwing down the gauntlet is David Gutstadt, formerly with Equinox Hotels, whose vision was to amplify that brand’s wellness/hospitality mashup with a coworking element and a strong dose of exclusivity.  For a  strong design POV, he tasked to Matthew Rosenberg of LA’s M-Rad and Fitler design director Amanda Potter. The look combines Mad Men modernity with the raw surfaces of the building’s industrial backstory, with pieces by Joseph Beuys, Alex Katz, and Adam Pendleton supplying artistic adornment.”
