Rather than work against the dramatic topography of Coldwater Canyon, the form of the Donhill Residence slopes gently with the hillside exercising views at every level. The graceful curve of the concrete structure flows down to the 100 foot long infinity pool, opening onto a deck with views stretching from the Pacific Ocean; to Downtown Los Angeles.

A light impluvium, the word the Romans used to describe the courtyard of the ancient domus, is carved out of the mass to bring light to the interior spaces on all levels, creating a luminous courtyard featuring a Zen garden, waterfall, and reflecting pond.
